I had the privilege of working with Maria as part of Hill Dickinson's global marine practice. Maria was not only an exceptional leader and lawyer, but she possessed the qualities everyone in our profession should aspire to: intellectual dynamism, curiosity, strength mixed with humanity and great sense of humour. She was - and will continue to be - a role model for many around her, near and far. My deepest condolences to her family and all those who were close to her. We have prematurely lost a legend of our profession, but more importantly they have lost a wife, mother, sister, daughter and best friend. My warmest wishes to them.
