Having worked with Maria for around 10 years I have to say how much I admired her as a lawyer, as an all-round powerhouse and as the lovely person she was. I did once suggest that she went into politics and she laughed heartily and said that others had also suggested that! She would have been a politician I could have trusted as I think she would've done the right thing. We did not know that she was ill and I am very sorry I missed the opportunity to have a chat with her during the summer. I wil always remember her fondly and with great respect. John S.
